This past weekend I attended Altitude, a weekend retreat, with many of my Chi Alpha peeps, and it was phenomenal. Such an amazing time of worship, hearing the Word, fellowship, and just a flat out fun time!
The entire weekend focused on equipping ourselves for the incredible adventure that God has for our lives. One speaker in particular spoke directly to my heart, he really challenged me. He spoke about “walking on water”. Referring to when Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.
What I came to realize is that if I want to see extraordinary changes on my campus, my town, my family, or even my personal relationship with God, it will not happen on its own. I have to “step out of the boat”, move out of my comfort zone, and take a risk. I have to do what Peter did, despite seeming impossible: I have to walk on water!
How would Peter ever have known he could walk on water unless he took the risk and tried? How do you and I know we can’t do something, something incredible, something that’s never been done before, unless we try?
If you want to see changes in your life you have to take risks. Wise risks, of course, but nevertheless, this is just one step to doing great things and achieving God sized dreams for your life! Putting faith in God, believing in the impossible, and then taking action to reach those dreams.
It’s time to walk on water!
Your insights are always so good, Kaylee. This is exactly what we should be looking at when trying to do something big for the Kingdom. Are we ready to ‘walk on water’?
